Hive Recording Feature

The Hive Recording feature allows you to record and analyse honey bee audio using only the microphone on your smartphone. To do this, press the "tap to record" button and hold your smartphone microphone up to the entrance of your beehive. You will have a 5 second countdown to get the phone in place, and then a 15 second recording window.

Our software will then allocate a hive state based on the audio provided, and ask you for feedback to indicate if the analysis was accurate. Your feedback is pivotal to improving our AI system, so please make sure to check your colony before sending feedback. You can read more about the feedback process here.

After giving feedback on the recording, your recording saves to the review pannel, where you can listen to and share it with friends on social media.
